I think this site is brilliant if you’re interested in children’s books. Maybe you’re a parent or you teach kids. On this site you can actually read whole books – and then you can easily buy them if you like them. So it saves you from having to traipse around a bookshop. And you can even embed the books which I think is very cool. I was looking at some of the books on there and I found one I liked called: Kitty’s Cuddles. If you read this book you can learn some adjectives like:squidgy, snug, cosy, prickly and tickly.
Kia Ora in Stick News today airlines in the United States have gone two years without a single passenger death.
According to CNN a single year without fatalities has occurred only four times since 1958. So they say the two-year streak in 2007 and 2008 is remarkable, especially considering that airlines carried more than a billion passengers during that time. A university professor said improvements in technology had helped bring down the fatality figures.
And that was Stick News for Wednesday the 4th of February. Kia Ora.
Today I’m going to show you how to get to the bus stop. Go out the gate. Turn right. Go straight. Turn right again. And then keep going straight ahead until you get to this intersection. Then wait for the ambulance to go past.
Then turn left and go straight ahead. Go past the Docomo shop. And Boutique Madonna. The bus stop is in front of Café Bon Bon. This stop is called Keizai Centre Mae or Economic Center. A free bus called the Kutchan Night Go Bus stops here and it goes to Hirafu about once an hour.
Word of the Day
Today’s word is Cro-Magnon. You might already know what this is – but I’d never heard of it until last week. I went to see a band called Cro-Magnon and I thought they’d just made that name up. But no, it’s actually a word.
This is from the Wikipedia page: Cro-Magnon is one of the main types of Homo sapiens of the European Upper Paleolithic, living approximately 40,000 to 10,000 years ago. It is named after the cave of Crô-Magnon in southwest France, where the first specimen was found.
